Kinder Castle enjoys a magnificent isolated position on the side of the mountain of Kinder Scout in the Peak District National Park, and yet it is only 24 miles from Manchester city centre.

A former shooting lodge that has been host to some great Victorians and was the hideaway of Agatha Christie, the castellated fortress encompasses a late Medieval Banqueting Hall, an original Inn, and linked accommodation around the four sides of a beautiful courtyard that make for the perfect rural retreat for family and friends to congregate and enjoy the peace and solitude.

The Castle is set within the 6,000 acre National Trust Kinder Estate and is accessed through 30 acres of private woodland grounds, affording the best panoramas of Kinder and the Reservoir, to which it has the exclusive fishing rights.

Kinder Castle is a luxurious base from which to explore the Peak District and a very impressive place to entertain at home with a wide range of on-site activities available.

The area has a high number of ancient monuments, often in enigmatic moorland settings.

There are many stately homes within a 45 minutes drive, including Chatsworth, Haddon Hall, Lyme Park, Harwick Hall, Eyam Hall, Kedleston and Tissington Hall nearby.
