Enjoy tranquility, privacy, peace, solitude and location at Smiths Castle! Indulge yourself in an authentic C15th Irish castle with a fascinating history, set away from the busy roads on almost 5 acres of mature grounds overlooking a river valley on the West coast of Ireland.
The castle sits in one of the best possible locations in the West of Ireland. Only a few miles from the castle you will find the longest sand beaches in Ireland, the world famous Cliffs of Moher, the ferry to the Aran Islands, 2 championship golf courses and the most Western spa in Europe. The property lies within the unique Burren landscape with its rare flora, prehistoric monuments of international importance and so much more!
The banqueting hall is large, with a 17th century richly carved table, comfortably seating eight, inviting you for candlelit dinners. The integrated rustique fitted kitchen is fully equipped with all you need to create an opulent knights banquet, including a good range of cooking and serving utensils. Electric stove and microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washing machine/dryer all there to make sure you don't miss the convenience of home. The great hall was once upon a time the king's living room with magnificent original gothic fireplace.
Upstairs the minstrels gallery overlooks the great hall, with great views and a romantic sleeping area for two. There are also three cosy double bedroom chambers, a good sized bath room and two shower rooms.
All rooms are centrally/underfloor heated. Furniture is kept in luxurious antique style throughout. There is also a radio/CD player in both, the banqueting hall and the great hall as well as a TV in all bedrooms.
