"I wanted to plan a 40th birthday party which would be fun and different, especially for my American friends coming over to Ireland for the first time. The Castle appeared to be what I was looking for and in the end it surpassed our expectations! All of my friends, Irish and American alike, were impressed with the castle and what we got for our money. All of the bedrooms and en suites were very comfortable with modern conveniences, albeit in an authentic castle, and the downstairs rooms provided endless entertainment. Emma, the owner, was very friendly and pleasant and extremely helpful in making the plans and Robert was a brilliant tour guide/butler/raconteur. Not only would I recommend the Castle to anyone looking for a very special getaway with friends or family, but I intend on going back for a repeat visit."

"Thank you for an amazing weekend! Everyone had a wonderful time. The castle exceeded all our expectations. It is truly beautiful. I have been recommending it unreservedly already. The accommodation was spotless, the beds comfortable, the rooms beautifully laid out, fires ready to be lit and the butler Robert was very helpful and friendly. The gardens are wonderful also."

We had our wedding in at the Castle in summer 2010 and it was incredible. Seeing it in person was even better than the pictures – every room inside the castle is as perfect as the gardens around it – a beautiful setting to fill with exactly what we wanted. It was like having the castle as our home and the ability to bring in our own catering, wine and entertainment meant we could have a whole weekend that was unique to us. Often with Irish castles the surroundings are beautiful but the insides need work. There is no shabby area in the castle, every feature has been perfectly restored as new and there are so many places to discover in the grounds.
We had a big garden party that stretched indoors and were able to dance and play music as late as we liked. We brought in lots of entertainment for the second day and Emma, Declan and Robert had no problem with any request. They made the whole planning process a joy and the weekend itself could not have been any better. This place is going to get very popular. We are so happy we found it!

Our experience at the castle was truly magical and unique. We wanted a wedding with a difference and achieved that and more in this amazing location. The Butler, Robert, was incredibly helpful and enabled us to put our own individual stamp on our wedding. Our guests raved about the castle itself; we had a band in the ballroom, a singsong in the front hall, and a chill-out area in the library so all needs were catered for! We couldn’t recommend this venue enough.

The castle is an unknown gem but has been part of my life since the mid 80's, when it was stripped of everything of value and the wind blew through it. Thankfully since Declan and Emma's ownership of the castle has been given a second chance, their attention to original detail is nothing short of visionary genius. When they asked me if i would re-stencil the dining room I was thrilled, to be involved in this project is a pleasure, to be part of its history is a privilege. My relationship with the castle and its owners will last as long as I will.
