Mangerton House

Mangerton House was built in the early 19th Century and is set in 14 acres with the River Mangerton running through the gardens.

There are currently 8 bedrooms (2 within the barn complex) all bar one with en suite bathrooms. Currently it can accommodate a maximum of 16 adults but in total with children are able to accomodate 20. 

The house has been completely renovated. It sits in a valley two miles from Bridport with a glorious south facing view of a steep hill on the neighbour’s farm. The owners have created walkways around the grounds, re-built the kitchen garden, built a natural swimming pond outside, an indoor pool/gym complex and created camping facilities.

Within the main house there is a large kitchen/dining room, a back kitchen, large front and rear halls, a very large sitting room and a smaller living room with a TV . A sonos music system is integrated throughout the communal areas. The Barn houses ‘conference’ facilities as well as a large 3D plasma television.

The owners of the property have supervised the design of the house. Bespoke wallpaper (from eley kishimoto) has been used around the house as well as bespoke lighting in every room (from Bowles and Linares). The furniture is a combination of new, reclaimed and special hand built pieces.

The bathrooms are fitted by Lefroy Brookes and the kitchen equipment exclusively installed by Kitchen Aid. The beds are handmade by Norris Bedding.

Mangerton House is two miles from the bustling market town of Bridport and a similar distance from the seaside villages of West Bay and Burton Bradstock. Lyme Regis is about 10 miles away, Weymouth 20 miles and Dorchester and Axminster (home to River Cottage HQ) 16 miles away.
 
There is also a 2 bedroom beach house at Burton Bradstock, uniquely positioned on the chesil beach. Fully functional with a bathroom and kitchen the property sleeps up to 8 people and can be rented as part of the mangerton booking or occasionally on its own.

There is also available (with or without a driver), a 250 hp cobra rib, 7.5 metres long that can comfortably take 8 people to lyme Regis for the morning or perhaps for a longer day trip to Durdle Door or just out into Lyme Bay to fish. The Bridport and West Bay golf Club is 3 miles away and playable as a non member. The nearest train stations are Crewkerne and Dorchester.

Catering and babysitting can be arranged at a reasonable rate. Please enquire prior to booking. 

- Security deposit: £2000. This is paid prior to arrival and will be refunded in full after departure subject to damage inspection.
