Bank Holiday Jubilee Celebration in the Park 4th – 5th June.

Carlton manor House is opening its gates to host an outdoor public event over the bank holiday Monday 4th and Tuesday 5th June to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. The spectacular 17th Century stately home situated amongst 250 acres of parkland will provide a magnificent gothic backdrop to complement the grand occasion.

The 2-day park event will feature entertainment throughout the day and into the evening. Main acts on Monday will include Abba and Queen tribute bands, Titan the Robot plus various country events themed around the Diamond Jubilee.

A country fair will dominate the second day complete with Diamond Geezer competitions, Jubilee lurcher racing and a Queen’s Challenge Clay Shoot.

Local radio station Minster FM will run a battle of bands competition, broadcasting for the duration of the celebrations from the main park.

Open to all this is bound to be a fun-packed family event, which will run from 9-30am until 9pm on Monday and from 9.30 am until 5pm on Tuesday.

Carlton Manor House is a privately owned Victorian Gothic-style English country house set amongst 250 acres of parkland in the beautiful Yorkshire landscape. It is home to Lord and Lady Gerald Fitzalan Howard and their three children and has passed down through the generations for centuries.

We offer exclusive use of the venue comprising three grand State Rooms, 16 individually and beautifully designed character bedrooms, a Minstrel’s Gallery, Bar, Entrance Halls, Armoury, Drawing Room and grounds. The State Rooms stretch across the length of the house (spanning 150 foot) and provide a regal Victorian ambience that is simply unforgettable.

The lavishly decorated and spacious bedrooms are all en suite or with a private bathroom and are located within separate wings and two tall towers. The rooms were recently redesigned by Lady Gerald herself and each one will take you back in time to a world of opulence and splendour.

Bedrooms
Carlton Manor House has 16 beautiful and lavishly decorated bedrooms; 13 double, 2 twin and 1 single. 8 rooms are located in the Bachelor Wing, 5 in the Nursery Wing, 2 in the Clock Tower and the largest suite in the Baroness' Tower. Each bedroom is en suite bar two which have private bathrooms across the hall.

Staterooms
Intricately decorated in Victorian design these are the three main rooms that stretch across the length of the house. Located off the Main Hall and through majestic oak wood concertina – style doors lies firstly The Venetian Drawing Room followed by the Card Room and, finally, The Picture Gallery.

Kitchens
The house has one large working kitchen (large oven and two fridges), a vast prep kitchen (with new walk-in fridge) and a glassware room (with drinks fridge).

Living Room
The Bow Drawing Room spans the breadth of the house and occupies the west wing. It is an elegant and charming room perfect for relaxing and enjoying tea and cakes in the afternoon. It looks out over the hedged garden.

The Shoot
The Manor House has one of the finest Partridge shoots in the north of England. Our Purdey-Award winning shoot attracts shooting parties from all over the UK and adds immensely to the English and family feel of the venue.

Grounds
The house has gardens to all sides and includes 250 acres of parkland and a further 1500 acres of farmland. Gardens include a wild flower red bricked walled garden to the back of the house (and looked out over from the Bachelor Wing rooms) and a hedged garden to the west side. The is a vast lake at the end of the parkland and the Carlton estate is enclosed by a high red bricked garden wall.

Carlton Manor House is located in the villange of Carlton and neighbours the village of Snaith (1.5 miles) - both have amenities including petrol stations, bakeries, deli's and shops. The nearest town is Selby (6 miles).

There is a local cricket club in Carlton and fishing can be arranged at the manor house lake.

This sensational gothic style house is ideally located in the village of Carlton, between York and Doncaster (to the North and South) and Hull and Leeds (to the East and West) with easy access from the M62 J34 or 36, or M1, M18 J6. It has close rail links and nearby airports (Leeds / Bradford and Humberside).

Carlton Manor House has an in-house chef (available if required) who cooks the finest Yorkshire cuisine from foods sourced locally.

Our catering is available at £45 per head for 3 course dinner, £25 lunch or afternoon tea.

A Duty Manager will be on site and on call throughout the day for the length of your stay and a night porter - both included in the hire fee.

We are licenced to perform civil marriage ceremonies for up to 200 guests. From lavish glamorous weddings through to the traditional our exclusive offering can be tailored to your specific taste.

Carlton Towers is a truly beautiful wedding venue. The three State Rooms provide the most delightful ambience and span 150 foot in length. The house offers ideal backdrops for photograph opportunities, both inside and out.

Your wedding day will be organised and coordinated by our experienced Events team who will carefully discuss your plans with you and check that every last detail is in place.

All our menus are designed and created by our in-house chef, who puts time, thought and the finest Yorkshire produce into his cuisine. Carlton Towers has all the ingredients to make your day extra special.

- Security deposit: This is paid 2 weeks prior to arrival and will be refunded in full after departure subject to damage inspection.
