We stayed in here last weekend and it was superb. The staff are very professional, helpful, polite and friendly. There is an Italian chef there and the food was absolutely delicious. I would recommend this b & b to anyone who likes quite and class.

We stayed in this hotel for three nights and it was lovely. It is so peaceful and set in lovely surroundings. The room was beautifully decorated with a spacious bathroom. Breakfast was very good and the Italian restaurant is amazing! The food is lovely! Perfect location for exploring Dartmoor and North Devon. We would certainly stay here again!

Beautifully appointed, comfortable and spotlessly clean country house in a peaceful yet convenient country setting midway between Tavistock and Okehampton. We recommend eating in the House's own Italian restaurant, the food was excellent and the prices in line with other high quality restaurants, but if you don't want to pay restaurant prices there were several pubs within a few miles. We had a four poster room which, while not huge was more than adequate, very comfortable, well furnished and had a decent size flat screen TV and a small but luxurious shower room. The residents lounge was large and very comfortably furnished and although we did not partake, drinks were available to residents throughout the day. Staff were friendly & helpful. I couldn't fault our stay in any way and highly recommend the House if you want somewhere fairly secluded, peaceful and luxurious at a very reasonable price.

Rarely do I feel the need to write a review when I travel but I am making an exception for this outstanding venue. My wife and I recently had a baby and this was our first trip away since our childs birth. The owners were extremely welcoming and being family people themselves were particularly accomodating of our needs for our baby. The rooms are extremely well appointed and reflect what you may expect from a much more expensive hotel. Also a real italian restaurant downstairs!!! What fabulous food - One of the owners is italian and this clearly shows in the standard of the food, we had an exceptional food every night and without having to leave the building. The local area was brilliant - there was enough good walking to keep you busy for a week with the north and south coasts only a short trip in the car for seaside fun (in the warmer months). The local towns are charming and the overall location gives you prime position to explore devon or even head on into cornwall. I will definitely be back again soon and once the little one can ride a bike I'll be taking on the coast to coast cycle which has been created on an abandoned railway line which runs directly past the hotel. The local pub has some real character too.

Set in beautiful surroungings the House is a real treat. Not only does it offer a relaxing family friendly atmosphere and an excellent Italian restaurant but it also has a business / conference facility suitable for meetings and presentations. I will certainly be returning both for business stop offs and also with my family and the dogs in the summer! Highly recommended.

We have just spent three nights celebrating our Wedding Anniversary at the Country House and could not have chosen a nicer venue. We had a superior room with a beautiful shower room (although I would have liked, and expected to see a bath). The King Size bedded room was spacios and comfortable with a 32" wall mounted LCD television. We only ate in the restaurant once because the food in the nearby Castle Inn was so good. The meal we did have in house was good but nothing special. Breakfasts though were good and plentiful. Walks from the door are a bonus, especially those on the Moor - magnificent.

Great location. The rooms are very new and wonderfuly clean. Possibly our only complaint was that we booked a superior room which we thought would have included a bath but instead had a shower room. You must eat at the restaurant as the food is just brilliant. Breakfasts are healthy and totally yummy. Staff are all very friendly. The sitting room with fireplace is really lovely. This B & B is certainly worth a visit.
