Sleeps: 10

The house is a recently built 3,000 sq ft beach house in a quiet, unspoiled Cornish Hamlet 30 metres from the beach on the south coast that is fantastic in both summer and winter.

Cornish Beach House is situated on the south coast of Cornwall with spectacular views across Whitsand Bay, and towards the beautiful Rame Peninsula. It is located in an oasis away from the main village and is set back from a small, historical harbour and rocky foreshore, leading to a large sandy beach.

The local village has both a hotel (with indoor leisure club) and an 18-hole (SSS 69) golf course (which runs partially along the coast), a pub and a local store/post office. The start of the Cornwall South West Coastal Path is a mere 50 metres from the house.

The Area and the house are in a forgotten part of Cornwall not normally visited by the crowds, yet close enough to the general hustle and bustle of the main tourist attractions. The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Helegan are all about 30 minutes away.

The house is a recently built 3,000 sq ft beach house with every mod con on offer from under floor heating and wooden floors to heated towel rails and even a sunken hot tub.

To while away those hours not spent in the Hot Tub (which is fantastic both in good and bad weather) or meandering along the beach, there is also a large 42” flat screen Television in the TV Den with SKY+ HD, Sky Sports and Movies.

Or of course for those energetic types there’s 630 miles of South West Coastal pathway giving you some of the most spectacular views in England.

The house comprises 4 bedrooms (2 doubles, 1 twin and a bunk room with 2 bunk beds) as well as 3 bathrooms (2 en suite and 1 family). In addition there is a large open plan living/dining area, a fully equipped kitchen and a games room/TV den. Outside is a private terrace and hot tub overlooking the beach below.

We have a 3 metre rib with a 6hp outboard motor. It will take 3.5 adults of 600 kg in weight. It is a treat to handle with great performance and sea going capabilities. Included in the package are oars, 5 life jackets of different sizes, spare fuel tank, storage bag and foot pump, anchor, flares and 2 Motorola Walkie Talkies plus an inflatable doughnut and tow rope. The cost of hiring the boat is £200 per week. We Also have a boatman to show you how it all works. He charges £20 for his boat drill.

Just a few hundred yards along the coast are large quite spectacular secluded soft sanded coves, in fact these are so wonderful that its just like being on your own private Caribbean desert island (and that's no exaggeration). The rib makes it an ideal way of accessing these and  allows you to spend the day having a great time, partying, barbecuing etc.

The area is famous for its wreck diving, which boasts some of the best in the UK, with over 300 wrecks between Rame head and Fowey. The National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth has won the bidding for the decommissioned warship, HMS Scylla, which will now be sunk off Whitsand Bay, Cornwall, to create an artificial reef. This will be the first of its kind in Europe, making the West country Britain's diving capital.

Cornwall lies alongside the warm Gulf Stream and its mild climate makes all manner of plants, including sub-tropical ones, flourish here. South East Cornwall is a veritable gardeners' paradise: dozens of wonderful gardens, large and small, public and private, are open to visitors through most of the year, and are easily accessible. These include the famous Lost Gardens of Heligan, gardens of The National Trust and  many more properties open under the National Gardens Scheme.

Spring comes early to Cornwall and, at this more peaceful time, the gardens are filled with delicate camellias and magnolias, for which the area is renowned. Azaleas and rhododendrons follow, competing with the beauty of cherry blossoms and primroses. The month of May sees the opening of the Cornwall Festival of Spring Gardens at venues throughout the county - an event not to be missed!

In summer, the roses make the bees, and visitors, dizzy with their perfume and in streamside dells, huge gunneras and acanthus shelter dainty candelabra primulas and ferns. Finally, Autumn turns all to red and russet, gold and claret and bright  berries and seed heads adorn the trees and borders. Whatever time you visit, you'll find sights to take your breath away and ideas to inspire.

One experience not to be missed is the spectacular and unique Eden Project. The Project is easily accessible from your accommodation in South East Cornwall and is guaranteed to leave you enchanted, inspired and overawed! Built inside a crater 50 metres deep, the huge biomes constitute the biggest plant conservatory on earth!

Within the largest of the three giant spheres, (which is tall enough to hold the Tower of London) you'll experience the sights, smells and sheer scale of the rainforest when walking around the lofty gantry suspended in the top of the dome.

As well as introducing you to over 70,000 plants from all over the world, the project reminds us all of our dependence on plants for our own survival and how vital it is to conserve and value them. For an introduction to an unforgettable experience, visit the Eden Project website.

630 miles of pure magic, depending on how high your pain threshold is. But whether you are the type who can only muster a mile or 2 you can only be inspired by the sheer staggering beauty of this coastline. The house is a perfect starting point with the coastal path a mere 50 metres away, allowing you to slowly  venture out, but with home not too far from sight.

After the exertion of a long coastal walk you could ask Lilian our visiting masseuse to give you a wonderful Aromatherapy massage, or an Indian Head massage, after spending an hour or so lolling in a steaming Hot Tub!

Connie our Housekeeper offers an unpacking service if you order your shopping via the internet. Select from either Sainsburys, Tesco, Waitrose, or Safeway. She will do all the hard work and then put the food in the fridge or freezer. She makes a modest charge for this service based on her time. She is also available for cleaning etc during your visit.

Just to say Thank you so much for our week at the beach house. If possible it was almost more beautiful than the photos, and your exquisite taste on every level just added to the luxury. We had a wonderful time there, it was difficult to get out and about frankly as I was more than happy lolling in the gorgeous hot tub just watching the ships go by. Bliss. I am sure I will return, and will tell everyone I know just how fabulous it is. I have rented houses in Port Isaac, Padstow and Polperro in the past, but nothing comes near your amazing holiday home!

We have just returned home from Portwrinkle after a lovely weeks holiday. The weather was lovely but most of all the house was out of this world. THANK YOU so much for your kind card and bottle of champers for mum, it really was kind of you. It was really hard to leave but we really do hope to return as soon as we can!

I am sorry you only got informed about the additional canine guest at the last minute (my brother assured us he was leaving it at home, but he arrived with it, and we were not best pleased). We left 35.00 on the worktop as requested when he apparently rang you. I hope he did phone you re this and he wasnt fibbing to us!!!?

Thanks again and hope to contact you again soon when we can get down there again!

Helen and a very chilled out family

I just wanted to say how much we enjoyed our weekend at the beach house. It was one I will never forget… we all relaxed fully and actually felt as though we had been away for more than 2 days…
Anyway back to reality…!
