The Medieval Manor

Have you ever dreamed of having a manor house all to yourselves? Well now you can. Step back in time and experience an unsurpassed private holiday in luxury. This stunning manor house, once owned by Henry VIII, is steeped in history. You'll be surrounded by heavy oak doors, tapestries, ancient stone walls, spiral staircases, open fires, four poster beds, and spectacular antiques.

Conveniently located within 1 hours drive of dozens of historic sites experience the best of England and Wales. The house is a 5000 sq ft manor house with 5 bedrooms that comfortably sleep 12 guests.

The exquisite period kitchen has comes with granite work tops and an easy to use electric range cooker. Modern appliances include the American fridge-freezer with ice maker and Meile dishwasher. There is a further refrigerator, microwave, blender, toaster, kettle and automatic coffee maker. A welcome package is provided for all our guests which includes Starbucks ground coffee, Earl Gray tea, and biscuits.

You will find plenty of entertainment at the manor, the cozy relaxing living room has a flat screen TV with Sky+ and DVD player. Broadband internet can be accessed in three rooms. An great selection of DVD's books and board games are also provided. All rooms have at least one thermostatically controlled radiator to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

The manor sleeps up to 12 people. An extra single bed can be added to any of the 5 bedrooms for a maximum occupancy of 12. There are two large master bedrooms, both located in the 15th century wing of the manor and both with king size four poster medieval carved beds as well as en-suite facilities. The third bedroom also has a king size bed which is on a hand carved frame. The fourth bedroom is a single room with basin and mirror. These rooms overlook the front gardens. The fifth bedroom is a single bedroom on the ground floor. Two of the bedrooms have internet connection.

The manor has two full bathrooms each with claw and foot baths and separate showers. Two of the five bedrooms also have en-suite facilities. All our towels are of the highest quality and we only use designer Dorma sheets and covers on all our beds.

The gardens surround the manor on three sides with a high stone wall to the rear and enclosing the side gardens. Enjoy a barbeque in the large garden with ample seating provided. Adults and children will both enjoy the olympic quality trampoline. Our guests will delight in the private medieval garden where they can practice the art of courtly love. There is also a children's play area with a large play house.

The Manor is located on the southern tip of the Wye-Valley, which is an area designated for its outstanding natural beauty. We are located 10 minutes from the M4 and 15 minutes from the M5 motorways. The manor is the perfect location for both outdoor sports and tourism.

Located only 20 minutes from Bristol, 30 minutes from Cardiff and 35 minutes from the ancient Roman city of Bath. You couldn't be better located for touring both England and Wales.  The Manor is situated in the quiet village of Caldicot, 100 yards from the Norman castle and its 55 acre country park.

The house stands in its own private gardens near to the medieval church of St. Mary's which was also built by the monks of Llanthony in the 12th century.

If you would like to have shopping arranged in advance of your arrival we can accommodate this. We also provide wine, champagne, and chocolates upon request at an additional charge.

We are happy to offer advice on local restaurants and can put you in touch with private caterers upon request for that special occasion. We can recommend transport options and put you in touch with personal tour guides. If there is anything further that you need, we will do our best to help you make arrangements where possible.
