Tudor Manor House

Tudor Manor House, near Glastonbury, is the perfect venue for weddings, private hire, party weekends, film locations, conferences and corporate events.

The House itself can be found about half a mile up a winding lane, a magnificent Tudor Manor House surrounded by 7 acres of informal gardens and grounds amidst the rolling Somerset countryside. An amazing venue available for private hire by a large group of friends, wedding guests or business colleagues to gather together. Built by the monks of Glastonbury in 1489, it still has grandeur and period features, including a Tudor fireplace and four-poster beds.

The house is only rented for exclusive use so it is entirely yours for as long as you would like it. It is a unique Medieval Manor noted for its warmth and hospitality. Guests will be greeted in the magnificent Great Hall where in the winter a log fire provides a warm welcome, and in the summer extensive lawns prove a delightful setting for a drinks reception.

There are 12 elegant rooms all individually decorated and furnished to provide a very comfortable and peaceful haven. All have en suite facilities, TV and a hospitality tray. We have three z-beds available at no extra cost.

From every window there are magnificent uninterrupted views across the rolling Somerset countryside and peace and tranquillity that is hard to find in today’s busy world.

Guests can enjoy a game of croquet on the lawn or a stroll around the grounds, and for the less energetic you may simply relax under the magnificent cedar trees with a glass of cold wine soaking up the atmosphere. Extensive lawns provide a delightful setting for a drinks reception before sitting down to a sumptuous dinner.

The house is situated in a small village, just five miles from Glastonbury and 10 miles from the beaches of Burnham on Sea. The house is within walking distance of a wildlife reserve - a designated area of outstanding natural beauty on the Somerset levels - and a short drive from Cheddar and Wells. The nearest airport is Bristol and the nearest train station is Bridgewater.

The most popular trips out from the house include Glastonbury and Wells, close by, and Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole and Burnham on Sea, a short drive away. The North Somerset and Devon coasts are half an hour from the house, with some glorious sandy beaches and cliff-top walks. It takes around an hour to drive to Bath or Bristol. You can also visit the Fleet Air Arm museum at Yeovilton and go hill-walking on the Quantocks and Polden Hills.

Whether it is for a large family gathering or a group of friends wanting a weekend out of the city we offer exclusive use of the house and informal gardens. The hire includes the services of our resident chef and waitresses/waiters. The house is rented on a self catering basis with the option for catering each evening if you wish. Evening meals start from £29.50 per person for a 3 course meal.

Weddings
From the grandest wedding to a small intimate gathering, the house provides a delightful setting for a wedding ceremony or reception. This beautiful and imposing home has been granted a license to hold civil marriage ceremonies, enabling the bride and groom to enjoy their wedding and reception at the same idyllic venue.

Guests may be greeted in the magnificent Great Hall where in winter a log fire provides a warm welcome, and in the summer extensive lawns provide a delightful setting for a drinks reception before sitting down to a sumptuous wedding breakfast in the Georgian Dining Room. The Georgian Dining room can hold a maximum of 82 guests for a seated wedding breakfast. The house can accommodate up to 130 people for the evening event.

For larger wedding parties a marquee may be used adjoining the side of the house. We can accommodate up to 150 for a formal wedding breakfast and up to a total of 170 for an evening function.

Our head chef will be happy to discuss menus with you to ensure a completely bespoke package to suit your requirements. A selection of sample menus is included in this pack.

Corporate Facilities
An idyllic, peaceful setting away from all the hustle and bustle of life, we offer an excellent venue for meetings, conferences and team building events whether it is for a quick breakfast meeting or a 24 hour intensive conference. The house is only used on an exclusive basis allowing you and your colleagues / clients total privacy.

- Security deposit: £1000. This is paid on arrival and will be refunded in full after departure subject to damage inspection.
- Linen & towels: All linen and bath towels are included in the rental price.
- Energy costs: Included in the rental price.
- End of stay cleaning: Included. Please leave the property in the state that you found it.
- Arrival time: 4pm onwards.
- Departure time: 10am.
- Pets: Please enquire.
- Smoking: No smoking in the property.
- It is recommended that all guests take out insurance to cover against potential cancellation and any accidental damage caused during your stay at the property.
