In a Derbyshire Village sits this magnificent Grade II listed manor house that was once the childhood home of Florence Nightingale. The Hall, part of which dates back to the 16th century, has been completely restored and converted to offer self-catering holiday accommodation with all bedrooms en suite.
The Hall has a grand entrance with impressive chandelier and portrait clad staircase leading to 10 bedrooms over 2 floors. It is within walking distance of a cosy pub, tea rooms, a restaurant and the famous John Smedley factory with its mill shop for luxury bargain sweaters.
At the rear of the Hall there is a terrace and landscaped garden leading off from the dining room. The terrace can be set up for outside meals if required.
Ground Floor: Stone flagged entrance hall through original glazed door. Drawing room with crystal chandelier open fire LCD TV and soft furnishings. Drawing Room 2 with grand chandelier, open fire, soft furnishings with many books and magazine to ponder over. Panelled dining room in the earlier part of the hall wood burning stove seating 20. Stainless Steel Catering Kitchen with dual fuel range and commercial dishwasher. WC with high level cistern.
First Floor: Five Bedrooms
- Room 9 Chinese Large Georgian Room zip and link bed with en suite bathroom with double ended free standing ball and claw bath.
- Room 10 Chocolate Large Georgian Room with canopied six foot zip and link bed with en suite bathroom with double ended free standing ball and claw bath.
- Rooms 6,7 & 8 All with zip and link beds & en suite shower rooms.
Second Floor: Five Bedrooms
- Room 1 Private staircase leading to bedroom with zip and link bed en suite shower room (can interconnect with room 2 must be requested prior to arrival).
- Rooms 2 & 3 large rooms with zip and link beds & en suite shower rooms.
- Room 4 Suite with large bedroom with zip and link bed, and en-suite bathroom with slipper bath and chaise-long sofa bed.
- Room 5 Romantic bedroom with slipper bath in the room.
All bedrooms have LCD TV with DVD & IPOD dock, tea and coffee making facilities. All beds will be made up as doubles unless twins are requested on booking.

The Hall is located in a quiet village, on the East bank of the River Derwent, a few miles from Matlock and Cromford. The village is surrounded by lovely, peaceful countryside with excellent walking and cycling from the door.
All the major sights of the Peak District, such as Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Carsington Water are readily accessible from the Hall.
Prices are inclusive of: Gas, Electricity, Welcome Grocery Pack including, Fresh Bread, Butter, Milk portions, Orange Juice, Jams, Tea, Fresh Coffee, Bottle of Wine. Luxury Toiletries, All Bed Linen, & Bath Robes (Adults) Fluffy White Bath Sheets, Hand Towels, Pool Towels.
We have teamed up with Chequers, a local catering company, to provide high quality menus for all main meals. All you have to do is select your menu and send us the order, at least 14 days beforehand. Costs are in addition and are inclusive of your own chef and waiting on staff.
- Security deposit: £1000. This is paid on arrival and will be refunded in full after departure subject to damage inspection.
- Linen & towels: All linen and bath towels are included in the rental price.
- Energy costs: Included in the rental price.
- End of stay cleaning: Included. Please leave the property in the state that you found it.
- Arrival time: 4pm onwards.
- Departure time: 10am.
- Pets: Please enquire.
- Smoking: No smoking in the property.
- It is recommended that all guests take out insurance to cover against potential cancellation and any accidental damage caused during your stay at the property.
